To celebrate this rare event, Cruise & Maritime Voyages will work with a local drone specialist to capture amazing shots of the three ships together and the eclipse, using some of the latest drone technology.
The team were invited on board Marco Polo in Tilbury earlier this week, in preparation for the special day. Matt Harris and Alistair Gillan from Pixelworks, conducted test flights on board the ship and met with Captain Nikos Michaloliakos and CMV's Mike Hall to discuss the event.
Mike Hall, CMV's head of marketing, commented:
“The company hopes to capture on camera this most unusual event together with three of their ships also in view using the latest modern drone camera technology. We have been working closely with local Essex company Pixelworks who have many creative talents, including the promotional use of drone technology. It could be something really special if the weather around 09.00 on 20 March allows us to capture our three ships and the total eclipse using a drone operated camera. Most of the cabins for all three cruises were snapped up months ago but there are one or two still available. The next British total eclipse is on 23 September 2090!”
