The ship's captain spotted the men on a small boat, who appeared to be in poor physical condition, of the coast of Grenada.
A rescue boat was launched from Azura and transported the three men onto the ship. They were then treated by medical staff and were later taken by the local coastguard who towed their boat to Grenada.
Azura was en-route to St Lucia, where it arrived on time this morning.
P&O Cruises marketing director, Christopher Edgington, commented on the rescue operation:
As required both by international maritime law and the duty of all at sea, we have to assist any vessel or seafarer in danger. We commend the actions of Azura's captain and crew, who performed admirably, acting swiftly to save other seafarers.
P&O Cruises has thrown five trouble-making passengers off of Oriana.
The ship was on a short, two-night mini-cruise to Zeebrugge. Oriana left Southampton on Saturday and arrived in Zeebrugge on Sunday, before returning back to Southampton on Monday. However after a fight broke out between family members late Saturday evening and the early hours of Sunday, the crew on board Oriana refused to allow the passengers to remain on board.
The group were interviewed by Belgium police and were told they would have to make their own travel arrangements to get back to Southampton.
In a brief statement, a spokesman for P&O Cruises told the Daily Echo:
We can confirm five passengers were asked to disembark Oriana following an incident during the early hours of Sunday morning.
