The world's most luxurious cruise ship, Regent's Seven Seas Explorer, will make its North American debut on December 2nd 2016, offering an inaugural season of Caribbean sailings from Miami. Meanwhile Seven Seas Navigator will offer exotic African voyages.
British cruise line, Cruise & Maritime Voyages, has recently been working with the Netherlands United Tulip Society to sponsor the creation of a new, giant tulip. Suitably named Tulipa Magellanum, after their new flag ship Magellan, the CMV giant tulip can grow up to 48 inches (122 cm), nearly double the size of normal tulips - which grow up to 28 inches (71 cm).
At least 17 tourists have been killed during an horrific terrorist attack at the Bardo Museum in Tunisia. Two gunmen deliberately targeted cruise passengers as they were exiting coaches on a shore excursion.
After spending $85 million developing a port in the Dominican Republic, Carnival Corporation will begin welcoming guests to the new Amber Cove cruise port from October 2015. The port, situated along the Amber Coast, which has been a partial filming location for the original Jurassic Park movie, will give cruise passengers another exotic location to explore, which has not been available as part of cruise itineraries in nearly 30 years.
Ultra-luxury cruise line, Silversea, has announced that shore excursions and WiFi will be included on all Mediterranean cruises booked from 15th January.
