MSC Divina will return to Miami in November 2015, as part of a North American expansion, just a year since MSC Cruises pulled out of the region. The 139,400 ton vessel will cruise year-round from Miami, sailing to the Caribbean.

Carnival Cruise Line have officially announced details regarding Carnival Vista's US deployment. As previously reported, the 133,500ton vessel will homeport in Miami. The ship will offer six- to eight-night Caribbean cruises from December 2016.

P&O's Azura has rescued three people from a small boat in the Caribbean. The ship's captain spotted the men on a small boat, who appeared to be in poor physical condition, of the coast of Grenada. A rescue boat was launched from Azura and transported the three men onto the ship. They were then treated by medical staff and were later taken by the local coastguard who towed their boat to Grenada. Azura was en-route to St Lucia, where it arrived on time this morning. P&O Cruises marketing director, Christopher Edgington, commented on the rescue operation: As required both by international maritime law and the duty of all at sea, we have to assist any vessel or seafarer in danger. We commend the actions of Azura's captain and crew, who performed admirably, acting swiftly to save other seafarers. The world's first smart ship, Quantum of the Seas, arrived in New York for the first time yesterday, after completing a transatlantic voyage from Southampton.
The ship will be based in Bayonne, NJ for the winter period, before sailing to China on May 2nd 2015 where she will then be based. A new cruise terminal has been built at Cape Liberty to accommodate the Quantum class vessel. She offers cruises to Bermuda and the Caribbean. Disney Cruise Lines has revealed new itineraries for early 2016.
For 2016, Disney is introducing two new popular Caribbean destinations, Tortola, capital of the British Virgin Islands and Martinique. Disney Fantasy and Disney Magic will sail 7-night itineraries from Port Canaveral calling at Tortola, St Thomas and Disney's private island, Castaway Cay. Prices start from $1,120. Disney Wonder will sail from San Juan, Puerto Rico operating seven-night cruises to Southern Caribbean ports; Barbados, Grenada, Antigua and St Kitts. Four departures will also include a stop in Martinique, with fares starting at $980. Disney Cruise Line will also operate cruises sailing out of Port Canaveral and Miami to the Bahamas and Caribbean. Bookings open to the public on October 30th. |
