For the first time ever, Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity will each embark on World Cruises in 2018, offering four separate global itineraries, giving guests more options than ever before.
Crystal Cruises has been sold to Genting Hong Kong, by their current owners Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK). The acquisition which is worth $550 million, will also see a new cruise ship built for the luxury cruise brand.
Luxury cruise operator, Crystal Cruises, has had their Facebook page compromised by hackers. This has lead to a series of spam and inappropriate posts being published on the cruise lines fan page, which has over 100,000 likes.
Luxury cruise line, Crystal Cruises, has unveiled its full 2017 cruise itineraries, a full 2 years in advance. There will be 57 voyages to 268 ports in 84 countries, with more than 150 overnights – the most ever offered in a single year. Following a 2016 season that boasts a history-making transit of the fabled Northwest Passage, plus a 102-day World Cruise circling the Pacific Rim and more maiden calls than ever before, 2017 promises for an exhilarating year of firsts, anticipated returns, remote locales and other highlights on all seven continents. There will be 32 maiden calls to intriguing places like Maroantsetra, Madagascar; Iquique, Chile; and Djúpivogur, Iceland; along with lesser known gems such as Calvi, Corsica; Sète, France; and Santa Margherita, Italy. A 99-day Grand Pacific Explorer Grand Cruise, in January 2017, will be the start of Crystal's first ever voyage to New Guinea, as well as maiden calls into Vanuatu and New Caledonia. Crystal Symphony will offer a return to the Middle East and Holy Land and will be among one the very first luxury cruise ships to visit Doha, Qatar. The November itinerary includes a call in Abu Dhabi, allowing for visits to the stunning Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the largest in the UAE, as well as the new Louvre museum, set to open in 2015, and the Frank Gehry-designed Guggenheim, scheduled for completion in 2017. A 94-day Southern Celebración World Cruise aboard Crystal Serenity, circumnavigating South America and offering exotic adventure in the Galapagos, Antarctica, the Amazon, Machu Picchu, Patagonia, Tierra del Fuego and more. For European options, the 2017 itineraries will offer more Mediterranean cruises and variety than ever before, including new itineraries beginning or ending in Portsmouth and Valletta as well as multiples overnights on virtually every voyage. Other itinerary highlights include voyages to the North Cape, British Isles and the Canary Islands. Crystal will also offer Caribbean voyages from Charleston, South Carolina. Edie Rodriguez, Crystal’s president and COO, said: “We continue to offer intrepid luxury travelers new ways to explore and experience the world, whether with a new destination or simply a new perspective on a favorite one." Crystal Cruises will also be offering the first South Africa, round-trip cruise from Cape Town, highlighted by exceptional opportunities for safari adventures. There will also be a variety of itineraries designed around global events, such as visiting Stockholm during Sweden’s festive Midsummer celebration, Muscat on the Sultan’s birthday (Oman’s Independence Day) and Edinburgh for the Military Tattoo. According to German cruise website, Schiff Und Kreuzfahrten, the MS Deutschland has been sold to Crystal Cruises for 50 million euros. Payment is due to take place on Tuesday.
