The 132,500 GRT ship was named by godmother, Carolina Miceli, a travel agent selected in a worldwide competition. She cut the ribbon, which sent a jeroboam of Ferrari Gran Cuvée Trentodoc spumante smashing against the bow.
During the ceremony, Miceli was joined by Captain Massimo Garbarino and Costa Crociere CEO Michael Thamm in the Emerald Theater on board.
Also joining them was Arnold Donald, who had jetted over from the Regal Princess ceremony in Fort Lauderdale on Wednesday.
Following a light show and fireworks, the celebrations continued on board with a gala dinner featuring a special menu created by Costa's Michelin-star chef Fabio Cucchelli.
