The ship will now head to Greece, where she will undergo a small refurbishment, including the addition of its new livery, before sailing to Tilbury for a series of launch events, finally embarking guests on its maiden CMV cruise on 15th March - a Solar Eclipse and Northern Lights Cruise.
Shipping expert, Peter Newell, explained:
"Thirty years ago, the iconic shaped funnel was extensively wind-tunnel tested by her Danish builders Aalborg Vaerft A/S. The idea of the full wings was primarily to stop smoke from falling on either the aft of midships deck when sailing with a following wind, so removing them would not be a good idea."
"The addition of Magellan to our fleet brings a new dimension in cruising to CMV. Since launching Magellan's programme on 3rd November 2014, we have sold 60% of her capacity, which clearly demonstrates the strong demand for our product and smaller ship cruising."
