The 930 passenger ship will be christened on May 17th in Bergen, by the city's Mayor. The christening will also coincide with the Norwegian Constitution Day.
Two sister ships, Viking Sea and Viking Sky, will also debut in 2016.
Viking Cruises has officially taken delivery of its first ocean cruise ship, the 47,800-ton Viking Star. The ship was delivered to Viking's Founder and Chairman, Torstein Hagen at Fincantieri's Marghera shipyard in Italy, where the ship has been constructed. Viking Star will embark on an epic 50-day maiden voyage from Istanbul on 11th April arriving into Stockholm on 29th May after visiting the Eastern and Western Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Norway and the Baltic.
