1. MAJESTY OF THE SEAS TO BE TRANSFERRED TO PULLMANTUR (21st Nov) Royal Caribbean announced that their smallest and oldest vessel, Majesty of the Seas, would leave the fleet in April 2016. It will be transferred to Pullmantur, a Spanish subsidiary of Royal Caribbean. The ship will join ex-fleet mates Sovereign, Monarch and Empress, already operating for Pullmantur. 2. CRUISE & MARITIME VOYAGES ANNOUNCES NEW FLAGSHIP TO JOIN FLEET (3rd Nov) British operator, Cruise & Maritime Voyages, made a surprise announcement, that a new 1,250 passenger ship would join their fleet in March 2015. The current 'Grand Holiday' will be renamed 'Magellan' operating cruises from Tilbury, Newcastle and Dundee. 3. COSTA CELEBRATION LEAVES THE FLEET DAYS AFTER ENTERING SERVICE (22nd Nov) Costa Cruises made a shocking announcement that their latest ship, Costa Celebration, would leave the fleet despite only joining the cruise line's fleet the day before. The Celebration came out of a $4.5 million refit in mid November. She has been sold to an undisclosed buyer. 4. HOLLAND AMERICA RELEASES PREVIEW OF KONINGSDAM ITINERARIES (18th Nov) Holland America Line revealed some of the first itineraries for their new ship, ms Koningsdam. She comes into service from February 2016 and will be home-ported in Civitavecchia, sailing to the Mediterranean and Greek Isles. 5. WOMAN CALLS COASTGUARD AFTER GETTING STUCK ON BALCONY (20th Nov) A woman sailing from Southampton on board Fred Olsen's Braemar, called the local coastguard after getting stuck on her balcony. The coastguard contacted the ship, who sent a member of crew to help her. 6. NEW TV SERIES WILL HIGHLIGHT THE TRUE CRUISE EXPERIENCE (16th Nov) Mighty Cruise Ships, a spin-off series to the popular Mighty Ships, is a 6-part documentary, which will showcase a different cruise line and cruise style each week. The series first aired on November 9th 2014 on Discovery Channel Canada. The show will be shown in other countries at a later date. 7. QUANTUM OF THE SEAS ARRIVES IN NEW YORK (11th Nov) The world's first smart ship, Quantum of the Seas, arrived in New York for the first time, after completing a transatlantic voyage from Southampton. The ship will be based in Bayonne, NJ for the winter period, before sailing to China on May 2nd 2015 where she will then be based. 8. TAKE A LOOK INSIDE HOLLAND AMERICA'S NEWEST SHIP, MS KONINGSDAM (12th Nov) Holland America Line revealed a short preview video showcasing the interior of their newest and largest ship, ms Koningsdam, due to launch in 2016. In the video, guests are shown the beautiful and inspirational features found on board. 9. KIM WILDE TO PERFORM CONCERT ON BOARD HAPAG LLOYD'S EUROPA 2 (11th Nov) British pop icon, Kim Wilde, will perform a special concert on board Hapag-Lloyd Cruises' Europa 2. At her acoustic concert on board, she will surprise guests with new sounds and perform softer versions of her more traditional rock-style hits. 10. LOVE BOAT CAST NAMES REGAL PRINCESS (5th Nov) The cast of 70's TV show 'The Love Boat' officially named Princess Cruises' Regal Princess at a star-studded naming ceremony in Fort Lauderdale. Fifty bottles of champagne smashed against the starboard side of the ship in honor of Princess Cruises' 50th Anniversary. Suites - The ultimate cabins to have on board any cruise ship, but unfortunately, unobtainable for the majority of guests.

Archaeological finds suggest that the area of Southampton has been inhabited since the stone age.
